On these accounts, such books instead of doing any good, are productive of deplorable effects upon the minds of those, who are desirous of knowing the Khalsa religion in order to embrace it.I went through all the Gurmukhi Janamsakhies of Nanak and noted important facts, which were written in English, so as to meet the required ends. Had those facts been literally translated, the usefulness of this book, which has been written in a foreign tongue, would have been lost. So, I wrote them in such a style and placed them in such an order as to make the book as interesting as possible.
